Qualifications

• Ph.D. or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related
• 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service, evaluating budget justifications, tracking expenditures, advising applicants, and developing grant documents
• Combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position

Responsibilities

• Negotiating budgets, award periods, and grant terms and conditions
• Advising applicants and grantees on financial and management matters
• Administering an assigned portfolio, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
• Ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and sound business practices
• Processing grant and agreement applications used to make award decisions
• Interpreting and providing guidance on relevant statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Providing guidance and training to lower-graded grants management staff
• GS-11 duties include planning and managing assigned grants and renewal applications
• GS-12 duties include pre-award and post-award activities and policy development
• GS-13 duties include coordinating a complex portfolio of grants and projects
