Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Grants Management Specialist to support NIH extramural grant lifecycle activities in Bethesda, MD or Baltimore, MD. The role covers intake, evaluation, award, and close-out tasks to meet the ICs’ objectives.

You will ensure compliance with NIH policies, maintain documentation in NIH grants systems such as IMPAC II, and collaborate with Program Officers, grantees, and staff to process grant actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least two years of grants-related or administrative experience.
• Experience supporting regulatory compliance and detailed documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative guidance to NIH staff and grantee representatives within established authority.
• Maintain complete and organized documentation in accordance with federal and NIH requirements.
• Work with Program Officers, Grants Management Officers, grantees, and sponsored research administrators to support grant actions.
• Conduct administrative and regulatory reviews of grant applications for NIH and HHS policy compliance.
• Review application components, budgets, and justifications for completeness and allowability.
• Support processing of grant awards, amendments, and administrative actions.
• Monitor active grant portfolios to ensure adherence to terms and funding limits.
• Assist in resolving grant-related issues with Program Officers and staff.
• Maintain accurate grant records in NIH grants systems (e.g., IMPAC II).
• Generate and summarize reports on funding status and portfolio metrics.
• Track deadlines and outstanding documentation for timely processing.
• Apply NIH policies and stay current with policy updates.
