Kinston Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Kinston, NC. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the full spectrum of accounting functions, including AP, reconciliations, audits, and reporting.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years in Accounting/Finance, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure compliant financial operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years in Accounting or Finance; nonprofit, FQHC, or grants accounting experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and Excel; experience with accounting software.
Experience with audits and financial reporting; ability to work across departments.

Responsabilités

Assist the CFO in providing timely financial information to leadership.
Reconcile accounts receivable and income regularly.
Post receipts from mail and in-house collections into the general ledger.
Participate in annual audit and prepare Schedule of Federal Awards.
Develop and monitor internal controls including bank balances, A/P, and depreciation schedules.
Prepare and review agency cost reports and grant reporting requirements.
Process vendor invoices and employee reimbursements accurately and in line with policies.
Maintain accurate purchase and capital expenditure records.
