Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a Grants Budget Analyst to review, reconcile, and monitor state and federal grants while supporting forecast and budget development with grant budget managers. You will prepare monthly budget-to-actual variance reports, perform complex accounting tasks, and collaborate with grants teams and grantors to drive informed decisions and long-range forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 3+ years of budgeting, forecasting, modeling and analysis.
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with grants and grant budgeting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide monthly grant budget analysis and reconcile data for assigned grants.
  • Prepare and post journal entries and budget transfers.
  • Analyze spending, variances and forecasts for grant managers and leadership.
  • Identify risks and financial anomalies and recommend solutions.
  • Create and adjust budgets and multi-year forecasts for grants.
