Job summary

Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation seeks a Grant & Contract Accounting Advisor within Fisheries Resource Management. The role focuses on financial activities for grants and contracts funded by federal, state, and tribal sources, including cost analyses, budgeting, and reporting.

The position requires knowledge of GAAP, cost principles, and audit requirements for federal awards, with emphasis on coordination with project leads and accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate of Arts degree in accounting or related field or 3 years of professional accounting work experience.
• Experience with GAAP and government/federal grant accounting.
• Familiarity with cost principles and audit requirements for federal programs (OMB Circulars).
• Proficient in office software including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Monitor grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, and interagency agreements for compliance with statements of work.
• Prepare financial statements and schedules for tribal accounts and funding agencies.
• Manage grant/contract budgets, amendments, and addenda.
• Review expenditures, invoices, and procurement documents for allowability and budget compliance.
• Maintain accounting records and prepare reports for auditing and internal use.
• Communicate financial information clearly to team and stakeholders.
