The Swinomish Indian Tribal Community is seeking a Senior Grants Accountant to support assigned funding agreements including tribal and federal grants. You will set up and maintain grant accounts, ensure compliance, and provide expert financial oversight throughout the grant lifecycle.

Responsibilities include budget monitoring, audit-ready documentation, journal entries, drawdowns, and reporting. The role requires strong collaboration with program managers and adherence to 2 CFR 200 and tribal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in accounting/finance.
• Five+ years of experience in fund/project accounting or grant administration.
• Working knowledge of grant compliance (budgeting, reporting, reconciliations).
• Experience with multiple federal/state/tribal grants and grant closeout requirements.
• Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets and financial systems; audit-ready documentation.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain grant budgets and accounting records across cycles.
• Ensure amendments and agreements are properly stored and updated.
• Prepare audit-ready files and supporting documentation for programs.
• Perform journal entries, revenue recognition, draws, and invoicing for grants.
• Monitor expenditures for allowability and reasonableness per 2 CFR 200.
• Generate financial reports per award terms and conditions.
• Liaise with agencies and program directors during all grant stages.
