Job summary

Montclair State University seeks a Grants Accountant to handle post-award accounting and reporting for a portfolio of sponsored projects. You will ensure compliance with federal/state requirements, prepare grant analyses, and support internal controls within the Grants Accounting Department.

Responsibilities include monitoring transactions, generating reports, and collaborating with PIs and departments to ensure timely, accurate grant reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business-related field required.
• Minimum of three years of general account analysis, reconciliations and variance reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with GASB, FASB, and OMB Uniform Guidance.
• Monitor grant accounts for allowability and allocability; correct as needed.
• Prepare and analyze quarterly budget/forecast to actual variances.
• Generate financial reports and assist with grant-related transactions in GL.
• Collaborate with PIs and other departments for timely grant reports.
