Job summary

Albany State University is seeking a Senior Grants & Contracts Accountant to manage budgetary and post-award grant accounting for sponsored and restricted awards. You will prepare annual budgets, amendments, and analyses, coordinating with the Budget Director to ensure accurate financial data for sponsored programs.

The role requires close collaboration with PIs and budget managers, along with preparing reports for the USG Budget Office and supporting audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related area.
• Three to five years of experience in business, finance, or budgeting.
• Knowledge of governmental accounting principles and nonprofit accounting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the development of the university's annual budget.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly budget amendments.
• Provide guidance to departmental budget managers and PIs on fiscal management.
• Review and approve requisitions, ePro transactions, and Purchase Card activity.
