Job summary

Santa Barbara Foundation in Santa Barbara County is seeking a Program Officer to join the Grantmaking team in the Programs Department. The role reports to the Director of Grantmaking and focuses on managing grant portfolios across Santa Barbara County, advancing priorities in Food, Shelter & Safety, Behavioral Health, Health Care, Environment & Conservation, and Arts & Culture.

You will lead outreach, proposal review, grant administration, grantee support, monitoring, and community engagement,

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant grantmaking, nonprofit programs, or community engagement experience.
• Strong verbal and written communications with diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with strong organization.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with program implementation or grantmaking processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage grant program portfolios across Santa Barbara County.
• Coordinate all aspects of grant cycles including outreach, reviews, award distribution, monitoring.
• Provide technical assistance to applicants and grantees.
• Conduct community engagement and build grantee relationships.
• Support learning and collaboration with internal teams.
