Job summary

The Samueli Foundation seeks a Program Officer to manage grant portfolios in Orange County, guiding investments from sourcing through closeout. Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, you will develop funding recommendations and nurture relationships with grantees and partners.

You will synthesize research and data, monitor progress, and contribute to portfolio strategy while representing the Foundation in local communities and philanthropic networks.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of experience in philanthropy or nonprofit leadership.
• Ability to assess nonprofit strategy, leadership, finances, operations, and programs.
• Strong judgment and communication skills; manage multiple relationships and deadlines.
• Knowledge of Orange County nonprofit and public-sector landscape preferred.
• Commitment to Foundation values and inclusive partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Manage grant portfolios from sourcing to closeout.
• Source and assess potential investments with due diligence.
