Job summary

Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska’s Planning and Development Office is seeking a Project Development Officer to lead grant research, drafting, and fundraising activities to support tribal departments and programs.

The role involves collaborating with department heads, developing logic models and budgets, and preparing grant narratives and attachments for submissions. You will coordinate with senior staff to ensure timely, compliant applications and renewals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in grant writing or related experience.
• Knowledge of federal grant systems and compliance requirements.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the Tribe’s core mission, vision and values.
• Familiarize with tribal departments, policies, and federal grant regulations.
• Gather information for funding opportunities and develop grant applications.
• Research grant programs and develop strategic approaches aligned with tribal needs.
• Prepare budgets, narratives, and attachments for grant submissions.
• Assemble documents in funding portals for submission.
• Coordinate communications with tribal staff and funding agencies.
• Provide timely advice on funding opportunities and requirements.
• Drive project fundraising and ensure compliance with fiscal requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
