Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in grant writing or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of federal grant systems (Grants.gov, SAM.gov) and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to identify when experts should be engaged in planning.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pass background checks and a US driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the tribe’s core mission, vision and values.
  • Familiarize with tribal departments and programs and federal grant regulations.
  • Gather data and documents for grant funding.
  • Identify and develop grant programs to support tribal needs.
  • Prepare budgets, narratives and attachments for grant applications.
  • Coordinate submission of proposals and grant renewals.
  • Advise on funding opportunities, requirements and procedures.
  • Coordinate activities with leadership and program staff.
