Job summary

Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a Project Coordinator/Navigator to support the CTAS PA3 Winnebago Tribal Court Enhancement Project. The role collaborates with multiple tribal departments to boost court capacity and effectiveness, aligned with Winnebago Ho-Chunk culture.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or active pursuit) in criminal justice or related field, with grant management experience and strong communication skills. Travel and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, human services, social services, or related field (or currently pursuing).
  • At least two years of experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess grant project management experience and familiarity with tribal or community settings.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values.
  • Maintain accurate case file records and statistical reports for grant requirements.
  • Track data, create tracking sheets, and enter bi-annual reports with grant financial staff.
  • Develop Memorandums of Understanding and obtain letters of support.
  • Create and maintain case numbers and organized client files.
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 50 clients.
  • Communicate with Juvenile Probation, Youth Crisis Intervention Center, and related offices.
  • Coordinate with mental health services to ensure client evaluations.
  • Work with outside entities for inpatient treatment services.
  • Engage client families in regular gatherings to discuss progress and needs.
  • Ensure client compliance with court conditions and transport to hearings when needed.
  • Attend court hearings to provide updates on client progress.
  • Perform occasional research and clerical duties.
