Catholic Charities Of The Archdiocese seeks a Grant Writer to oversee project management, writing, editing, and submission of foundation, corporate, and government grant applications and reports in Houston, TX. The role includes maintaining grant tracking systems and collaborating with the Director, Fund Development and the Grants team across departments.

The ideal candidate has a 4-year degree and at least two years of professional writing (grant writing a plus), with strong writing/editing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 2 years of cumulative experience in professional writing (grant writing a plus), management, community relations, or fundraising.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the grant writing, editing, and submission for foundation and corporate grants with program staff and grants team.
• Maintain a portfolio of active grants with Director, Fund Development and Manager, Fund Development.
• Research new grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and other organizations using sources like Instrumentl and Foundation Directory Online.
• Attend grant/funding meetings and trainings (in-person and online) and share key information with the grants team.
• Gather data, documentation, and attachments for grant applications from program staff and administrative departments.
• Assist in developing application-related budgets.
• Manage accounts/logins for grant portals, ensuring security policies are followed.
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with foundation staff and funders.
• Record grant activities in databases (Instrumentl, Raiser’s Edge) and maintain hard copies when needed.
• Maintain digital grant records on department drives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Director, Fund Development and Manager, Fund Development.
