Job summary

USA Cares, Inc. is seeking a Grant Writer to research, develop, write, and submit proposals that support the organization's mission in Kentucky. You will manage the grant development process for federal, state, foundation, and corporate opportunities while ensuring compliance and deadlines.

The role collaborates with Development, Programs, Finance, Communications, and Executive Leadership to produce data-driven proposals that demonstrate impact and funder-responsive narratives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, nonprofit management, public administration, business or related field.
• Demonstrated experience with federal and state grant writing.
• Experience with foundation and corporate grants.
• Experience developing grant budgets and outcome-based narratives.

Responsibilities

• Research funding opportunities and develop, write, edit, and submit grant proposals and related materials.
• Prepare federal and state grant applications while staying current on guidelines, regulations, and reporting.
• Monitor RFPs, NOFOs, funding trends and opportunities aligned with USA Cares' priorities.
• Collaborate with Programs and Finance to gather data and develop measurable outcomes.
• Prepare and coordinate interim, annual, and final grant reports with deadlines.
• Maintain the grant calendar, funding records, deadlines, and proposal documentation.
• Support relationships with foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funders.
• Work with multiple departments to gather information for accurate materials.
• Maintain proposal templates and continuously improve grant processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
