Job summary

King County's Roads Services Division seeks a grants professional to manage pre- and post‑award tasks, coordinate grant development, support grant writing, and track submittals. You will collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, and finance staff to align funding with Roads’ strategic goals.

The role emphasizes superior facilitation, planning, technical editing, and project management, with a strong focus on equity and justice in daily work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience with grants, contracts, planning, finance, and/or program management.
• Strong technical editing and persuasive writing skills, preferably in public sector/transportation.
• Experience presenting to diverse internal and external partners.
• Ability to manage multiple grant processes and timelines.
• Equity, justice, and collaboration are central to the role.

Responsibilities

• Independently research local, state, and federal grant opportunities.
• Provide technical analysis of grant guidance to advise on project fit.
• Coordinate grant development, including drafting and reviewing applications.
• Manage complex grant proposals and submittals; support documentation.
• Track grant applications, awards, and administration across agencies.
• Perform grant revenue and cash flow forecasting.
• Represent King County to internal/external partners and facilitate meetings.
• Maintain organized files and records in SharePoint and databases.
