Job summary

The City of Wheat Ridge is seeking a Grant Specialist to research, identify, and secure funding for Parks and Recreation initiatives, including capital projects, programming, trails, and community wellness. You will develop proposals, manage budgets, and report on awarded grants, collaborating across departments to maximize ROI.

You’ll coordinate grant activities, maintain records, and support the department budget with grant revenue projections. Local government experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Public Administration, Business or related field.
• Three years of professional level experience in Parks and Recreation or managing grants for a public agency or similar organization.

Responsibilities

• Identify funding opportunities and align with organizational needs.
• Lead development and submission of grant proposals with budgeting, attachments, and narrative writing.
• Manage grant administration, reporting, compliance and close-out of awarded grants.
• Maintain relationships with funding partners and grant calendars.
