Job summary

The National Audubon Society is seeking a Grant Specialist in Washington, DC to support pre- and post-award activities, budgeting, and compliance across multiple grants. This role is part of Audubon’s Finance Team and requires collaboration with program managers and leadership.

The successful candidate will manage grant budgets, monitoring expenditures, and prepare financial reports. Hybrid work arrangement with in-office Mondays and Tuesdays is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of grant management experience.
  • Knowledge of Uniform Guidance cost principles and non-profit regulations.
  • Experience with international grants is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare grant proposals with a focus on budget accuracy.
  • Coordinate with staff to elevate high-dollar or high-risk proposals for Executive Team review.
  • Provide monthly grant status reports and analysis to Project Managers/State Directors.
  • Assist with pre- and post-award administration and compliance reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with OMB 2 CFR 200 and grant terms across multiple flyways.
