Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a grants administrator to handle pre-award and post-award functions, ensuring timely submission of funding proposals and proper financial management of portfolios. You will coordinate with PI and central offices to monitor budgets, effort reporting, and sub-recipients as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with related experience; knowledge of sponsor regulations and institutional policies is essential, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1 year of research administrative or financial experience OR 3 years of research administrative related experience.
• Experience with pre-award and post-award processes, budgeting, and sponsor reporting.
• Ability to coordinate with central offices and investigators on budgets and reports.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Administration or Public Health.
• Knowledge of institutional policies and sponsor regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-award and post-award functions such as allocation of labor costs and approving requisitions.
• Coordinates departmental effort reporting and ensures timely submission of certified effort reports.
• Maintains department records of grant awards and agreements.
• May help identify funding sources and disseminate information to staff.
• Works with Research Administration, Research Finance and others to submit sponsor reports and resolve matters.
• Develops annual research/clinical trial budgets and reconciles monthly expenses to budget.
• Forecasts expenditures and provides monthly status reports to PIs.
• Ensures timely renewal of grants and subcontracts and orderly closeout of sponsored activities.
• Attends institutional training on sponsor regulations and hospital policies.
