Job summary

The Nature Conservancy in New York seeks a part-time Writer/Editor to lead development, writing, and management of grants. This six-week assignment collaborates with program and finance staff to secure and steward funding supporting our mission.

You will translate technical information into clear narratives, manage grant records, and ensure reporting and deadlines while building relationships with funders to secure continued support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum 7 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience crafting organization- or company‑wide communication tools, including branding.
• Experience writing, editing and proofreading messages for targeted audiences.
• Experience presenting to various audiences including internal and external executives, donors, members, board members, and the public or equivalent.
• Experience implementing, and managing multiple complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Manages multiple grant‑writing and reporting, projects simultaneously and serve as project lead on assigned initiatives.
• Ensures accountability for meeting project goals, deliverables, and deadlines.
• Resolves complex issues in collaboration with Development and exercises sound judgment within the scope of assigned work.
• Works collaboratively across departments to gather information, develop proposals, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
