Job summary

UPMC in Pittsburgh seeks a Research Project Coordinator to support the research program, with strong IRB familiarity and independent work capability. This role oversees other research staff, coordinates site activities, and ensures data quality and regulatory compliance across multiple sites.

The position requires experience with IRB submissions, budgeting, and progress reporting; travel between project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, business administration or related area.
• Three years of relevant research and/or clinical experience required; five years strongly preferred.
• Experience with randomized controlled trials preferred.
• Strong project management, budgeting, planning, execution, delivery, quality assurance, and regulatory reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of project spending and funds available.
• Coordinate the daily activities and special projects for department.
• Coordinate scheduling of assessments.
• Assist with quality assurance over data collection and management, including data flow, data entry and verification, maintenance of all project databases, data security and confidentiality.
• Provide regular supervision for junior staff.
• Responsible for preparing and modifying IRB protocols, Regulatory Binders, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the research, clinical, and administrative staff related to this research.
• Coordination of recruitment i.e. Advertisements, tracking recruitment, and developing strategies to increase response in targeted populations.
• Responsible for the submission of regular reports detailing the progress of the research, including NIH progress reports.
• Travel between project sites as needed.
