Job summary

Office of Juvenile Justice in Monroe, LA seeks a part-time Reading Interventionist to support district literacy initiatives and improve reading outcomes for youth. The role includes targeted interventions and instructional coaching across multiple campuses.

You will monitor progress, implement evidence-based practices grounded in the Science of Reading, and collaborate with teachers and administrators to strengthen literacy instruction district-wide.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education/reading or related field with Louisiana reading specialist certification preferred.
• Minimum of five years of teaching English/ELA with proven results for readers.
• Working knowledge of high-quality reading curriculum and use of technology to enhance instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted literacy interventions to support struggling readers.
• Coach teachers in implementing evidence-based reading instruction.
• Use student data to guide instruction and monitor literacy growth.
• Support district-wide literacy initiatives aligned with HQIM and the Science of Reading.
• Collaborate with educators to strengthen literacy programs and student outcomes.
• Deliver professional development to build instructional capacity across campuses.
• Support grant implementation and program reporting for fidelity.
