Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks an Instructional Specialist to plan and implement professional growth opportunities for staff within the Department of Professional Growth Systems.

The role focuses on effective curriculum planning, motivating and engaging staff, and tailoring instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs across schools. This is a grant-funded position reporting to the director of the department.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in education or curriculum.
• Minimum seven years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Experience planning and delivering staff development for adult learners.
• Leadership in equity, supporting school improvement and system goals.
• Knowledge of MCPS curriculum and assessment forms.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement professional learning opportunities for staff.
• Serve as trainer, coach, consultant, and facilitator for district initiatives.
• Support staff in applying instructional strategies aligned to system goals.
• Coordinate post-training monitoring and collaboration on a high-performing team.
