Job summary

The Richmond County School System is seeking an Instructional Specialist to support teachers, develop content knowledge, and coach staff under the direction of the Director of Teaching and Learning.

Requires a Bachelor's degree (Master’s preferred), valid Georgia teaching certificate, and at least five years of teaching experience; online learning endorsements preferred. This grant-funded, contract position emphasizes instructional leadership and effective technology use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid Georgia teaching certificate or ability to acquire; online learning endorsements preferred.
• At least five years of successful teaching experience; strong leadership and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates practical application of research-based, learner-centered instructional strategies.
• Provides targeted support to new teachers.
• Leads vertical and horizontal collaborative planning sessions.
• Analyzes instructional practices and data to address growth.
• Designs and delivers professional development on instructional best practices and assessments.
• Develops coaching plans to ensure student improvement.
• Models direct instruction and intervention across content areas.
• Attends district trainings and redelivers information.
• Knowledge of online and face-to-face instruction.
• Uses internet and web-related technologies.
• Collects and submits data in a timely manner.
• Uses student data to inform instructional decisions.
• Supports School Improvement Plans and Title I initiatives.
• Compiles reports relative to Title I regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
