Job summary

Laurel Ridge Community College seeks a 9‑month grant‑funded EMS faculty member to provide leadership and instruction for the EMS program. The successful candidate will report to the Dean of Health Professions and engage with college and community partners to shape curriculum and student success.

The role includes teaching traditional, hybrid, and online courses, coordinating clinical experiences, and contributing to new program developments while advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in EMS or related field from a regionally accredited institution is required.
• Current NREMT Paramedic certification and Virginia paramedic eligibility is required.
• Demonstrated field EMS experience as a Paramedic provider.
• Knowledge of National EMS Scope of Practice and Education Standards.
• Commitment to the community college philosophy and to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and instruct the EMS program as a 9-month grant-funded faculty member.
• Teach in traditional, hybrid, and online formats; engage students and coordinate clinical experiences.
• Develop curriculum, degrees, certificates, and trainings aligned with EMS program direction.
• Collaborate with K-12, higher ed, industry, and community organizations to strengthen partnerships.

Education

NREMT Paramedic certification
