Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach and recruitment activities for TTC grant.
  • Assist with enrollment and eligibility determinations.
  • Handle intake processes and student support tasks.
  • Track attendance, progress, credential attainment and job placement for reporting.
  • Coordinate with community partners to promote training and job-placement opportunities.
  • Travel between campuses to work with students and staff.
  • Maintain participant records and required documentation.
  • Monitor performance metrics and grant deliverables.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The part-time grant-funded Career Navigator position will support recruitment and outreach activities, enrollment, eligibility determination, intake processes, student support, and other administrative duties for the Texas Talent Connection ( TTC ) Grant Program.
Track student attendance, progress, completion, credential attainment and job-placement for grant reporting purposes. Connect students with college and community resources and support services to promote persistence, retention, and successful program completion.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Two (2) years of related experience.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, technology and computer skills.
  • Strong time-management skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility in schedule to support recruitment and outreach activities as needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services or related field.
  • Experience in higher education, workforce development, student services, career services, case management, or a related field.
  • Experience with student recruiting and advising, workforce placement, or coordinating social services.
  • Experience working with grant-funded programs.

Job Duties
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment activities, such as attending job fairs, events and coordinating call campaigns to prospective students.
  • Respond to prospective student inquiries on eligibility.
  • Present information to community partners and potential participants.
  • Attending employer and industry partner meetings to promote training and job-placement opportunities.
  • Build referral partnerships with employers, workforce agencies, and community organizations.
  • Assist with applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility for TTC-funded services.
  • Assist with registration and enrollment processes.
  • Review and maintain appropriate eligibility records in compliance with grant guidelines and institutional policies.
  • Ensure timely collection and verification of required participant documentation.
  • Connect students with college support services to address barriers, promote persistence, and support successful program completion.
  • Monitor participant progress and maintain ongoing communication to support persistence, retention and completion.
  • Refer students to appropriate community-based support services as needed.
  • Travel between campuses to work with students/program staff.
  • Maintain participant records in appropriate tracking systems and required data entry.
  • Monitor performance metrics, outcomes, and grant deliverables.
  • Collect and verify required documentation to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Track enrollment, completion, credential attainment, and employment outcomes for grant reports.
  • Schedule appointments and meetings as needed.
  • Prepare and route reports as needed.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation.
  • Perform other related administrative duties as assigned.
