Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is seeking a grant-funded AEFL Coordinator to support the Adult Education & Family Literacy programs. You will assist students, faculty, and staff with academic and tutorial support, recruitment, and retention at campus locations.

The role emphasizes data collection, reporting, and collaboration with community organizations, while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to grant guidelines. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with emphasis in Higher Education or related field.
  • At least three (3) total years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree or higher with five (5) or more years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides course placement, monitors grade level gains, and case management for referrals to AEFL programs.
  • Provides information about MATC services; collaborates with admissions, counselors and staff.
  • Advises students on enrollment and program requirements; assists with financial aid and registration processes.
  • Coordinates tutoring and instructional support; distributes resource information for Basic Skills at CBO sites.
  • Maintains records and prepares reports; supports data collection and reporting for grant requirements.
  • Collaborates with community-based organizations to support student registration and program availability.
  • Compiles and presents center progress reports to administration; completes grant-related reporting.
  • Delivers excellent customer service across face-to-face, phone, email, and print channels.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Participates in meetings and professional development activities.
