Job summary

Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk, Inc. is seeking a Controller to lead grant administration, budgeting, and financial reporting. The role requires advanced financial analysis, deadline-driven performance, and strong internal controls within a nonprofit setting.

You will supervise staff, coordinate with leadership and funding agencies, and deliver timely statements of financial position and activities while ensuring compliance with nonprofit GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5–10 years progressive finance/accounting experience.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
• Reconcile balance sheet and grant-related accounts; monitor variances.
• Oversee month-end close, cash flow, and internal controls.
• Develop financial dashboards and executive-level reporting.
• Support CFR submissions, Form 990, and audit preparations.
• Maintain grant files and ensure compliance with policies.
