Job summary

U.S. VETS in California is seeking a Budget Analyst reporting to the Executive Director with a dotted line to the VP, Fiscal Evaluation and Compliance.

The role focuses on generating grant and contract funding requests, preparation of annual budgets, and monitoring fiscal performance to ensure financial stability across programs. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, at least 2 years of nonprofit finance experience, and proficiency with MIP Fund Accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Non-profit experience preferred.
• Leadership/management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OMB Circulars.
• Strong communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate and submit grant and contract funding requests.
• Ensure timely collection of site receivables.
• Ensure compliance with internal Policies and Procedures and federal, state, local regulations.
• Prepare site annual operating budget and grant budgets in conjunction with Site Operations Manager and Executive Director.
• Prepare grant budget modifications when necessary.
• Monitor site, program, and grant financial performance; coordinate with National Office.
• Prepare funder financial reports as required.
• Prepare internal financial reports and analysis as necessary.
• Participate in staff meetings and report on financial status of site.
• Assist in site activities and special projects.
