Job summary

Baptist is seeking an experienced Manager-Grant Accounting to provide leadership for financial administration, reporting, billing, and compliance of grants and restricted funds across the organization. You will ensure grant funds are recorded, monitored, billed, and reported in accordance with grant agreements and GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressive accounting, finance, grant accounting, sponsored programs, or restricted funds experience.
• Minimum of two years of supervisory, team lead, or project management experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of grant accounting principles, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and budget monitoring.
• Experience with federal, state, local, private, or foundation grants, including reporting, compliance, and closeout requirements.
• Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance, including 2 CFR Part 200.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial administration for federal, state, local, private, and foundation grants throughout the full grant lifecycle.
• Ensure grant revenues, expenditures, receivables, deferred revenue, and related balance sheet accounts are recorded accurately and reconciled timely.
• Prepare, review, and submit reimbursement requests, invoices, drawdowns, financial reports, and required documentation by established deadlines.
• Monitor grant budgets, spending activity, and funding restrictions to ensure costs are allowable, allocable, reasonable, and compliant with grant requirements.
• Partner with program leaders and operational departments to review grant performance, explain budget variances, forecast spending, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support grant proposal budgets, grant closeout activities, audits, compliance reviews, and funder reporting requirements.
• Develop and improve grant accounting procedures, internal controls, reporting tools, and training materials.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and supervision to assigned grant accounting staff and support professional development.
