Job summary

FVCC is seeking an Accountant to oversee daily financial operations including accounts receivable/payable and cashiering, and to monitor grant activity for compliance. The role prepares reports, maintains GAAP records, and supports annual audits.

The candidate will work with grant directors on budgets and cash requests, ensuring timely federal and state reporting. The position emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and collaboration across campus, with opportunities for professional development

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accounting or related field and two years of related experience; or
• Associate degree with four years of related experience; or
• six years of higher education courses and/or related work experience

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily business and financial operations of the college.
• Work with grant directors to establish budgets and prepare reports to agencies.
• Monitor federal, state and private grant expenditures for compliance.
• Maintain records and prepare reports for audits and financial statements.
• Assist with training in business office procedures.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Two years of directly related work experience

Associate degree in related field plus four years experience
