Job summary

LHH US is seeking a Grant Accountant for our Winston-Salem nonprofit finance team. This role ensures financial integrity, compliance, and accurate reporting for grant-funded programs that advance our mission and community impact.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, 3+ years of nonprofit grant accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, excellent analytical and communication skills, and advanced Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage grant budgets, expenditures, and funding allocations.
  • Prepare grant-related financial reports for federal, state, local, and private sources.
  • Ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile grant activity and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
  • Partner with program managers to review budgets, spending trends, and funding utilization.
  • Track restricted and unrestricted funding in nonprofit accounting standards.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for grant-funded programs.
  • Support annual audits and provide required documentation related to grants and funding sources.
  • Review reimbursement requests and prepare drawdowns as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting best practices.

Our growing nonprofit organization in Winston-Salem is seeking an experienced Grant Accountant to join our finance team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of grant funded programs that directly support our mission and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Experience managing grants, fund accounting, or government-funded programs
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting software and nonprofit financial systems preferred
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Pay Details

$24.00 to $27.00 per hour
