Job summary

CFS in New York seeks a Grant Accountant to manage grant budgets and reporting for mission-driven programs. This role offers end-to-end exposure to budgeting, compliance, and audits within a collaborative nonprofit finance team.

You will partner with program teams and external funders, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support audits, strengthening grants management and regulatory compliance experience in nonprofit accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience with grant accounting and/or nonprofit accounting.
• Knowledge of government grant regulations, compliance, and reporting.
• Strong reconciliation, financial reporting, and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage grant budgets, including funder templates and budget modifications
• Perform monthly budget-to-actual spending analysis for assigned grants
• Prepare and submit grant financial reports and reimbursement invoices
• Monitor grant expenditures for compliance with funding requirements
• Reconcile grant accounts and support audit activities
