Job summary

Beacon Hill in Los Angeles is seeking a Grant Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a mission-driven nonprofit. The role focuses on grant and fund accounting, month-end close, and GAAP compliance within a nonprofit environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Blackbaud experience and a solid understanding of fund accounting, with 3+ years of nonprofit accounting experience. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity based in Downtown Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of nonprofit accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of fund and grant accounting.
• Experience with month-end close and reconciliations.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and support monthly close.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
• Manage fund accounting, including restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Assist with grant accounting and tracking expenditures.
• Prepare financial statements and internal reports.
• Handle AP/AR, including vendor payments and donor receivables.
• Support annual audit and work with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams on budgeting and financial tracking.
