Job summary

Cleanwater1, Inc. in Grain Valley, Missouri, is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and commission electrical control panels, perform load calculations, and program PLCs for municipal and industrial systems.

You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure drawings, BOMs, and submittals meet customer specifications. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, PLC/HMI programming, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 3–5 years engineering experience in a technical role.
• Experience in PLC and HMI programming.
• Submittal and project specification review experience.
• Knowledge of applicable codes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering and Project Managers on design support within budget and specs.
• Provide technical support for all product lines offered.
• Manage standard drawing libraries for control panels and schematics.
• Generate control panel assemblies and P&ID drawings from schematics.
• Create custom assemblies for deviations from standard products.
• Assist with writing detailed work instructions for manufacturing.
• Create part numbers and BOMs in ERP and AutoCAD.
• Create product datasheets for customer submissions.
• Work with manufacturing to incorporate updates and redlines.
• Design control panel layouts and schematics, perform load calculations.
• Review project specifications and annotate deviations.
• Assist with submittal processes and customer meetings.
• Write PLC programs and process narratives for non-standard projects.
• Troubleshoot field electrical system issues.
• Set proper parameters for VFDs and sensors.
• Test, debug, and verify PLC code on equipment at FA and site.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
