Job summary

POET Grain is seeking a Scale Technician for an on-site role in Fairmont to operate grain scales and computer systems, ensuring quality of inbound/outbound products. Responsibilities include contract administration, ticketing, and grain settlement processing, with a strong focus on customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, some admin or agriculture experience, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–5 years of administrative, accounting, or agriculture customer service preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate truck scales and computer systems.
• Accurately grade quality factors of inbound grains.
• Apply scale tickets to contracts.
• Work within the grain accounting system to set up new accounts.
• Grain contract administration and filing of contracts.
• Provide accounting support to Grain Merchandisers.
• Maintain audit-ready contract files and perform housekeeping duties.
• Offer excellent customer service to external customers and grain haulers.
