Job summary

Tyson Foods is hiring a Commodity Buyer to originate, purchase, and manage physical grain supplies for feed ingredient requirements. The role emphasizes building strong relationships with farmers, grain elevators, and suppliers while managing positions, inventory, and contracts.

Reports to the Lead Grain Originator and supports risk management through hedge execution and market analysis. Candidates should have strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset in a dynamic commodity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a financial or agricultural field.
• 1+ years in grain merchandising, commodity procurement, grain origination, trading, or related area (or 5 years in a similar purchasing/trading role).
• Strong understanding of grain merchandising fundamentals, basis markets, hedge management, and pricing mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Procure corn, soybeans, wheat, and other feed ingredients from farmers and suppliers.
• Develop relationships with grain producers and industry stakeholders.
• Execute spot and forward grain purchases to meet supply needs.
