Job summary

Western Grain Marketing currently seeks a Grain Handler Technician to safely handle, store, and move grain within a facility. You will operate conveyors, augers, elevators, and related equipment while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires physical labor, ability to lift heavy objects, and willingness to work in varying weather and shifts. A valid driver's license, basic math, and strong mechanical aptitude are essential for precise record-keeping and inventory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related agricultural experience.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Basic math and computer skills for records and inventory.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery.
• Certification in forklift or heavy machinery operation.
• Able to lift and move heavy objects; physical labor.
• Follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines.
• Strong organization and time management; multi-tasking.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
• Willing to work varying weather and hours.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and load grain using conveyors, augers, and elevators.
• Operate and maintain grain handling machinery, including dryers and storage systems.
• Conduct quality checks on grain for moisture, weight, and other specifications.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage practices.
• Clean and maintain grain bins, pits, and work areas to meet safety and hygiene standards.
• Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Comply with all safety regulations, including using personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain accurate records of grain shipments, inventory, and operational activities.
