Job summary

Bartlett Co. is seeking a hands-on Elevator Operator in Scott City, KS. Responsibilities include grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, loading grain, and unloading liquid fertilizer from railcars to truck trailers.

You’ll help maintain and clean facilities to ensure a safe work environment and may be cross-trained for various tasks. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, ability to pass a background check, and availability for overtime and

Responsibilities

• Grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain; monitor stored grain condition; unload liquid fertilizer from railcars and load into truck tankers; maintain and clean grain facilities and equipment.
• Cross-training to perform a variety of tasks within the elevator operations.

Job description

The Basics

Location: Scott City, KS

Compensation: $20/hr and up

Days/Hours: This job will be 1st shift. Usual hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday, with some OT, including weekends.

Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs

Material Handled: Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, etc; liquid bulk fertilizer

What you'll be doing:

The duties of this hands-on job will include grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain; monitoring stored grain condition; unloading liquid fertilizer from railcars and loading the same into truck tanker trailers; and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for you and fellow Team Members. Grain Elevator Operators will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.

Requirements to be successful in this position:

• Able to travel to Healy KS and Towner CO to assist with train loading and other projects, as needed
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
