Job summary

MKC seeks an Operations Manager to direct the grain elevator, oversee maintenance and product quality control, and manage sales of feed, petroleum, and seed. The role includes supervising staff, weighing trucks, and handling settlements with customers to ensure accurate pricing and timely service.

The position requires knowledge of grain properties, POS/Scale software, and strong safety/compliance with regulations. You will help improve procedures and uphold outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related agricultural field or five years of experience in the grain business.
  • Knowledge of grain properties (corn, wheat, beans, milo, sunflowers).
  • Experience with Point of Scale and POS software.
  • Detail oriented with strong data entry and reporting skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical information and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bookkeeping for grain transactions and settlements, and manage grain tickets in the Point of Scale system.
  • Run the scale, inspect shipments, and assign grades for pricing across incoming/outgoing grain.
  • Lead Ag-trax accounting entries and invoicing processes.
  • Maintain inventory and supervise full- and part-time staff.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA/state/federal regulations.
