Job summary

MKC in Kansas seeks an Operations Specialist to assist in the agronomy, grain and feed departments at designated location. Duties include pick-up and delivery of fertilizer equipment, loading fertilizer, loading tanks, loading feed, unloading grain, and maintaining the elevator and grounds with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The role requires operating equipment safely, basic repairs, knowledge of fertilizers and grains, and the ability to obtain a 7B fumigation license.

Qualifications

  • Operate elevator machinery safely and perform minor repairs.
  • Gain working knowledge of fertilizer, seed and grains.
  • Possess 7B fumigation license.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adapt to changing tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming grain from trucks and weigh/test if needed, then transfer to bins and load out to trucks or rail cars within legal weight limits.
  • Inspect stored grain regularly, rotate as needed to maintain quality, and suggest improvements for better service.
  • Unload feed from trucks and load into warehouse; load feed into customer vehicles as directed.
  • Load fertilizer into customer vehicles or deliver as directed.
  • Follow OSHA and MKC safety regulations; promote a safety culture.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities per manufacturer specs or MKC programs; keep areas clean and orderly.
  • Assist other locations or departments as requested.
  • Maintain all facilities and vehicles in working order and document maintenance.
  • Keep premises clean and presentable to reflect a positive image of MKC.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to generate repeat business.
