Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Water Engineer in San Francisco to develop sustainable water engineering solutions across infrastructure projects. You will conduct field investigations, map with ArcGIS or similar platforms, and build hydrologic/hydraulic models for flood risk and water systems.

The role requires a Civil/Environmental Engineer degree (Master’s preferred) with competence in engineering software and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
Master’s degree preferred.
Competence with engineering software and technical writing.
Core understanding of water resources engineering and civil engineering fundamentals.
Evidence of past engineering internship or extracurricular activity in the field.
Ability to manage tasks and stay organized under dynamic conditions.

Responsibilities

Develop sustainable water engineering solutions including green infrastructure and water systems.
Conduct data collection and field investigations.
Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models (1-D/2-D).
Review codes, specs and standards for design and delivery of elements.
Prepare reports, calculations, plans and presentations for multiple project phases.
Navigate regulatory environment to gain project approvals.
