Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Project Controls & Commercial Management Analyst based in San Francisco to join our PPCM team. You’ll assist with budgeting, invoicing, and progress tracking across major infrastructure projects, working with engineers, planners, and clients.

This internship offers exposure to design management, PMO & Controls, procurement advisory, and project administration. We value proactive learners eager to gain hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary consultancy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering or related field.
• MS Office proficiency, especially Excel.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills.
• Strong planning and organization skills for a fast-paced environment.
• Motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
• Familiarity with AI prompting and its project management applications.
• Experience with project management software.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Interest in digital products and emerging technologies.
• Basic understanding of Power BI and Power Platform.
• Internship experience with an engineering/advisory firm preferred.
• FE/EIT or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing financial systems to review, monitor and report project financial results and performance.
• Assisting in preparing resource plans and schedules for projects.
• Assisting with setting up job codes and budgets, and monitoring progress.
• Assisting with collection and review of timesheets for time-based jobs.
• Interfacing with the design team to track engineering progress for EV analysis.
• Assisting with monthly client invoices preparation.
• Compiling expense backup and preparing project expense invoices.
• Tracking Sub-contractor costs, reviewing invoices and payments.
