Job summary

The Siebel School of Computing and Data Science (SSCDS) at the University of Illinois Urbana‑Champaign seeks an Academic Advisor to support on‑campus graduate programs.

You will advise students on degree requirements, coordinate orientation, manage degree audits, and serve as a liaison with ISSS for OPT/CPT, admissions, and graduate recruitment activities. A 100% full‑time appointment with a salary range and hybrid options are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least two years of student academic support in higher education.
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while meeting multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Advise graduate students on degree requirements and academic needs.
• Coordinate orientation activities for incoming graduate students.
• Serve as a Graduate College Petition Reviewer and assist in degree audits.
• Act as a liaison for OPT/CPT requests for international students per ISSS guidelines.
• Participate in graduate recruiting events and student programming.
• Develop/maintain statistics for graduate programs and communicate language proficiency requirements.
• Support admissions processing, including transcript and test score evaluation.
