Job summary

The University of New Mexico's Department of Communication and Journalism seeks a coordinator to serve as Graduate Advisor, Scheduler, Internship Coordinator, and Ambassador Coordinator. The role collaborates with the Department Administrator and Graduate Directors to support graduate student success and enforce policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 5+ years of related experience.
• Completion of a degree from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience in graduate student policies and procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Graduate Advisor, Scheduler, Internship Coordinator, and Ambassador Coordinator roles.
• Coordinate with Department Chair and Department Administrator to enter courses, monitor DESR, and follow budget guidelines.
• Oversee recruitment, intake, and administrative services for the Graduate Program and provide support to faculty and staff.
• Lead department scheduling activities and manage relationships with external high schools and university partners for outreach.
• Provide back-up fiscal administration duties including budgets, contracts and grants, payroll, purchasing, reimbursements, and time entry.
