Job summary

University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a Graduate Program Coordinator to provide administrative support for the combined Entomology and Plant Pathology graduate program on East Campus, Lincoln, NE. The role focuses on admissions, onboarding, records, scheduling, and faculty coordination.

You will support MS and PhD students through their lifecycle, manage multiple tasks, and serve as a primary point of contact for students while contributing to daily office operations and customer service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with four years of admin support experience, or an associate degree with two years of admin experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams), and ability to learn new tools.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

Description of Work

As the Graduate Program Coordinator, you will:

  • Serve as the primary coordinator for graduate student support and provide general office management for the School combining Entomology and Plant Pathology, with primary responsibility for the Entomology graduate program and associated academic and administrative functions.
  • Support prospective, incoming, and current M.S. and Ph.D. students throughout the graduate student life cycle.
  • Coordinate admissions, onboarding, assistantships, fellowships, scholarships, records, academic scheduling, and Graduate Committee activities
  • Serve as a key point of contact for graduate students.
  • Provide general office, building, event, and customer-service support to ensure effective daily operations of the School.

This position is located on UNL’s East Campus in Lincoln, NE. Within the UNL system, this position is categorized as an Office Associate.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma plus four (4) years of experience providing administrative support or related work; OR
  • Associate degree in business, communications, or related field plus two (2) years of experience providing administrative support or related work. Equivalent education/experience considered.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams), or similar tools, and the ability to quickly learn and navigate new software and digital tools.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with frequent interruptions.

  • Experience working with college students.
  • Working knowledge of UNL .
