  • Participate in recruitment activities and advise prospective students in Accelerated Masters and Dual Registration tracks.
  • Serve as chapter advisor for Beta Gamma Sigma and Spartan Women in Business.
  • Support Graduate Programs Office operations and assist with events and orientation.

Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

In the Bryan School of Business & Economics, we create and disseminate knowledge about the theory and practice of business. In addition to our courses and research, we accomplish this through hands-on projects, global experiences, and outreach to the community. Position Summary

The Graduate Academic Advisor position is a permanent position that will report to the Administrative Director of Graduate Programs in the Bryan School of Business and Economics. The primary areas of responsibility will be to serve as a Graduate Program Advisor and contribute to improved retention, timetodegree, and student satisfaction outcomes for students in the MBA Program and its affiliated certificates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage advising caseload reflective of current MBA enrollments
  • Manage online student engagement
  • Manage professional development programming
  • Participate in recruitment activities and advise prospective students interested in the Accelerated Masters Program and the Dual Registration track
  • Serve as chapter advisor for Beta Gamma Sigma honor society, and Spartan Women in Business
  • Manage study abroad programming and course (MBA 745) planning
  • Plan events like Beta Gamma Sigma ceremony, Graduation networking celebrations etc. Support orientation events
  • Support Graduate Programs Office Operations
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution and experience contributing to student success initiatives in a higher education setting.
  • Proven experience working with diverse populations in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working within the field of academic advising or in developing and implementing services/initiatives to support students' success, and retention.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Higher Education experience working with graduate students/programs, especially with online or adult learners.
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office, Ellucian BANNER), and Canvas.
