Job summary

CVS Health in Iowa City is seeking a Graduate Pharmacy Intern to apply didactic knowledge to real-world practice and prepare for a Pharmacist role. Under supervision, you’ll complete a 120‑day training roadmap, learn patient safety, DUR, and SOPs, and support the pharmacy team in daily operations.

As readiness grows, you’ll take on greater accountability, including immunizations and disease state counseling where permitted, while maintaining empathy and high service levels for patients.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree from a U.S. accredited program.
• Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, intern/technician licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely and accurately.
• Follow SOPs, protect patient privacy and maintain safety.
• Counsel patients, field questions, and handle telephonic prescriptions when allowed.
• Contribute to inventory and assist with immunizations where permitted by law.
