Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (associates, diploma or BSN) required.
• Eligible to work with multiple patient populations per assignment requirements.
• Take NCLEX; if second attempt, may work ancillary within 90 days.
• RN licensure in TN or compact state within 90 days required.
• BCLS required upon hire; maintain certification.
• Experience in patient care obtained through approved nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care according to medical regime and nursing plan per patient conditions and policies.
• Assesses, plans and implements care with consideration for safety and infection control.
• Performs unit-specific duties excluding administration of meds, IVs, and blood products.
• Implements patient teaching outlines and evaluates progress.
• Documents assessment and clinical judgments; updates records accordingly.
• Monitors patient status and responses to treatment; reports changes.
• Communicates with care team and maintains HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Transports charts, specimens, equipment and supplies as needed.
• Responds to emergencies and initiates basic CPR when required.
• Maintains clean, safe environment and participates in training and quality initiatives.
