Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX is hiring a New Graduate Engineer, Mechanical for Starlink and Starmind hardware. You will join design and manufacturing teams to take concepts through high-volume production and orbital deployment.

You will apply GD&T, CAD/FEA, and basic Six Sigma tools to develop robust, manufacturable systems while collaborating across disciplines. Graduation in 2026 or 2027 is expected; weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace or another STEM discipline.
• Graduating in the class of 2026 or 2027.
• Proficiency in CAD/FEA tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own Starlink/Starmind hardware from conceptual design through high-volume production.
• Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, and drive system-level optimization.
• Design and develop production lines, including robot end effector design and automation programming.
• Refine the production system to achieve high-rate, high-yield, reliable processes.
• Identify trends for optimizing output, quality, and manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot mechanical system problems and coordinate maintenance.
